Yesterday our class made some pies they were all unique pies like apple crumble sweet pie with fruit chicken bacon pasta pie cheese burger pie and venison pie. The People that helped us were called Callum miss Joblin and Mr Milne and the pies were so good the first pie i tried was the apple crumble pie it was amazing then the second pie i tried was a chicken bacon and pasta pie. the pasta pie was my favourite pie because it had pasta and chicken in it and i love chicken and pasta!! and Callum demonstrated how to put the pastry in the pie maker and showed us how to put the filling and the lid on on the pie pastry the  bacon a pasta pie was a really good combination with the chicken i really enjoyed watch and helping bake the pies it was amazing cooking them some of the pies were very sweet and some were not sweet. :)

The best disco ever!

On Friday it was the best day of my life the disco! The disco was amazing and a also wish that i could go back in time to go to he disco again the reason why i loved he disco because you could get slushy's pizza and popcorn the disco was at the Puratihi hall my favourite hing was the face paint and the fog machine the were just doing a amazing job the designs for the face paint the face paint was glow in the dark. I also played tag with Ollie and Jack and i also got a slushy and they tasted delicious there were two different flavours lemonade and strawberry but i got both flavours! the slushy looked like sunset and they tasted like flavoured  ice. There was also i fog machine and lots of people brought glow-sticks with them Violet gave me two glow-sticks as well the slushy's sold out the quickest the colours i chose for my face-paint were yellow and dark blue and there was a D.J called D.J ash to play amazing songs i also took a photo with Zoe and there was ham and cheese pizza and cheese pizza i tasted yum. i also played hide and seek tag with Jack and Ollie there were heaps of lights and i was really loud i really really wish there was another disco today because it was so fun and there were 200! people there i really really enjoyed this amazing disco i was so much fun! :) 

  

 Today our class made some posters about pies we made up our own pie recipes before we started these pie posters someone called Callum came in to talk to us about pies. We asked Callum some questions some were about the pie and some were about him and also some were kinda funny one of my questions was 'what is the most difficult pie recipe' he replied with 'the hardest pie recipe is pies that we haven't made yet' and my pie is a fruit pie and it is called kiwi fruit pie with feijoa and rosemary too. We also needed to put colour and bold title photo what fruit and ingredients and why pies are good for you.  I drew some fruit falling and two pies as well  i really loved doing these posters. after the posters we did the voting of the top six from each category the category's were fruit and  pasta Venusian desert cheese-burger  and apple crumble and crispy bacon and egg. The winners names were Amber Manaia Mia Ethan Pj and Jed. I also really enjoyed the voting and drawing out the posters.   

Herb tasting

         Today my class did some herb tasting. We did the herb tasting because we are going to make pie and with those pies we needed some taste as well we wrote in our book what it tasted like what the texture was like. My favourite was the garlic because it was smooth and soft and i little bit spicy as well and the herb i disliked the most  was the mustard seeds because they tasted like peanuts and i really don't like peanuts we did eleven herbs and spices the herbs and spices were basil parsley chilli flakes and mint chive rosemary oregano thyme sage and garlic and mustard seeds one by one Miss Joblin handed the herbs and spices out one by one and i thinking of a fruit pie or a chicken pie my second favourite was the chilli flakes and i also disliked rosemary. There was also a  one that tasted like Kina and really salty that i really didn't like too. most of them had strong smells too. Like the rosemary and some also had strong tastes as well.  

 Last week miss Joblin explained to our class how to do a diorama dioramas are shoe boxes with a picture inside of it but you have to create the photo inside of it you will need some materials like shoe boxes paint anything you want you will have to create the objects and details like grass clouds sun and even birds i really enjoy making dioramas this was my first time making a diorama. i made a tree with sticks and dark shiny green string i also used some rocks and sticks for detail i stuck rocks on the back of my diorama and miss Joblin had and great idea to make the sticks stand up too. I did my diorama on a bush called waihere domain because its was my highlight of our immersion week and for more detail we did some writing on our wild kai there were piko-piko and kawa-kawa fresh water crayfish ear fungus mushrooms and my favourite 

piko-piko it tasted Delicious when we cooked it in garlic piko-piko are dark green pale founds with brown dots on them and they are found in New Zealand under ferns here is steps of how to  make a diorama

1. get a shoe box

2. tape or glue the box to the lid

3. use paint or card to start off your background

4. start making details out of materials and start gluing them with a glue stick or a hot glue gun.

5. then make objects like trees and some rocks  

6. have fun!   

  

 On Tuesday my whole entire school went to the bush this bush is called Waihirere it was a part of

our immersion week the guy standing up the front is called Sam the trap man i loved the bush it was super enjoyable. before we started the four things to do we asked Sam some questions for Sam to answer for us.

My favourite thing was going to the waterfall and looking at the foods with Sam the trap man when we were going there a felt very exited to go see Sam the trap man for the first time he is on a TV channel called wild kai legends i also liked eating the pekoe-pekoe that was my first time tasting them they tasted fantastic. Going to he Waihirere  was my favourite thing about our school immersion week :) i also really liked the kawa- kawa tea it tasted i little bit spicy with the lemon bam as well when were out with sam we saw lemon bam pekoe-pekoe one poisonous fern and i safe fern we foyund bush lettuce kawa-kawa. the lemon bam smelled delicous. we looked down in the creeks aswell and found koura i really enjoyed the bush with sam the trap me.

Last week my class did a colouring competition for the 4 square the colouring was the for square person but  Easter edition my favourite bit of he colouring page was the big sign that said happy Easter because you can decorate the letters. i did mine in bright colours  because they are more like Easter colours like pink yellow orange violet blue purple. I also liked the Easter eggs as well that went with the colouring pages and you also have to do careful colouring when your doing this. i did mine with a sunset background because i felt like doing something else then just doing a blue sky and i made my bunny ears light purple.
